Steven Ritzi and I felt it important to provide a bit of a backstory to this project. We have been Partners on many films for the past 10 years, and have both been heavily involved with making Films and TV shows for 20 plus years before we teamed up. We bring to the table an innovative approach to creating the action of a film through a collaborative layer of storyboards and fully cut together video pre-vis sequences, often driving the editorial for our Directors.

Two years ago we decided to apply our skills and experience toward our own Directorial debut project. We took on this venture very strategically, knowing that turning heads would mean finding an innovative approach to the process. First, we wanted to provide a completely new experience for the viewer by bringing them into the action at the most intense level. Second, we wanted to choose a film genre that played to our strengths and experience. With an audience that thrives on edge of your seat intensity, a Paranormal Action Thriller was the way to go. We feel strongly that creative collaboration is the fuel for the machine. With that in mind, we have created a platform which will breed this collaboration like no other film to date.

The action design team on board has created the most intense action moments in films such as GI Joe 2, Pirates of the Caribbean and the new X-Men franchise. The action written on the page is only a placeholder for what will evolve as we begin to rehearse and develop each action sequence. We are also fully aware that action alone does not make a movie, at least not a good one. Thus, having the actors completely immersed in their moments is an essential driving force of our film.

As you will read in more detail below, the approach to capturing this film and it’s energy has never been done before. The actors will commit to being not just performers, but becoming an integral part of the process as they will film 100% of the combat content themselves. All locations, sets and events will be in a 360-degree world with each actor becoming a vehicle for multiple storyline-justifiable cameras. This is where the ultimate collaboration will take place.

As a final note, we feel that making a smart thriller is paramount because of the insatiable and technically savvy nature of the first person shooter audience, which we will heavily appeal to. This audience is much larger than the Paranormal Thriller audience, making our reach potentially enormous.

Thank you,
Andy Dylan and Steven Ritzi
